Britain's What's On Event Guide
Leather Backpack - Two-Day Workshop
Create your own personalised backpack, with double shoulder straps and a billet fastening. It will be big enough for A4 files, laptops or tablets as well as all your other daily must-haves.
We use beautiful British leather in a natural colour and finish in this workshop, with solid brass or chrome fittings. Small, friendly, and supervised by Catherine, this two-day workshop is a great way to introduce yourself to working with leather.
You can try a range of techniques under expert guidance including pattern cutting, stitching, punching, edge finishing, riveting, dyeing and mark making - working with vintage and antique tools.
Brilliant as a gift for a creative friend or relative, or as a productive and stimulating weekend for yourself.
Catherine Edwards trained as a boot and shoemaker working for many years before embarking on a residency at the royal armouries. This led to the production of her first collection of unique leather goods.
Additional materials can be purchased directly from Catherine on the day.
