Florence Nightingale Museum: Make-Do-and-Mend Workshop

Join the Florence Nightingale Museum for a sustainability workshop.

Often our favourite pieces of clothing are thrown out due to tears, holes, and general wear. This workshop aims to give these items new life and save them from landfills by repairing them.

So, bring along your beloved but broken clothes and fabric items and learn the basics of visible mending!

Please be advised that this workshop will involve the use of sharp and pointed tools, therefore is not suitable for small children.

No prior experience of hand sewing is required, all mending materials will be provided.

This is a drop-in session from 11:00am to 3pm – Kathy Atkins is a seamstress and all-round whizz with the needle and will be able to help work out how best to repair your beloved clothes.

Admission to this event is included with the purchase of a General Admission Museum Ticket.
