St Pancras Waterpoint - tour an historic Victorian water tower
Tour an historic Grade II listed water tower with views of the Gasholders and Coal Drops Yard at Kings Cross, and St Pancras station.
The Waterpoint is a significant building, that was constructed in 1872 to supply water to the rapidly growing steam railway network at St Pancras. It was designed by the office of Sir George Gilbert Scott, the architect responsible for the magnificent Midland Grand Hotel at St Pancras station. The ornate brickwork and elaborate detailing is an indication of the importance of engineering to the Victorians.
Tours start every hour between 10am and 3pm on Saturday 22 June and last 1 hour. Experienced guides describe the history of the building as well the adjacent Regent's Canal, the former Kings Cross goods depot and the former coal drops.
