Britain's What's On Event Guide
Shadows at Dusk - Art Exhibition
An exhibition of works by artist Michelle Watson
Michelle works from her studio in Mellis. She has exhibited in numerous venues in London and the South, and more recently also in Norfolk and Suffolk. She recently broadcast live in a 60 minute interview on Flux Review TV, ahead of exhibiting with Flux in July, in Marylebone, London.
Through her artwork, Michelle hopes to let other women know that they are not alone when enduring the difficulties and struggles of the ageing process. She has used her artwork to assist her in accepting the changes that are happening to her own body, painting the beauty of the female form juxtaposing the scars of time. By combining her own experiences with those of the women within her paintings, she is attempting to capture an honest depiction of ageing women. Her work showcases women in art, and was notably covered by Suffolk Magazine earlier this year in their celebration of International Women's Day.
After initially studying theatre, Michelle took a degree in Fine Art whilst raising her five children. Since then, she worked relentlessly to become an accomplished oil artist, basing her work on her lifetime experiences. Michelle shares her passion, her message and her experiences through her artwork.
Her upcoming solo exhibition at the renowned Courtyard Gallery in Aldeburgh opens on 20th June. Much of her new work she will be exhibiting will not be posted to her website until during the exhibition.
