Britain's What's On Event Guide
FREE taster session with the Giffnock Rock Choir
If you are pondering whether there is a 'pop or gospel choir near me' then you may be interested in the local Giffnock Rock Choir.
The Giffnock Rock Choir is led by local vocal tutor Lauren McGarrigle. People who have already joined the choir, who hail from Giffnock and further afield in Glasgow come from all walks of life and most had no singing experience or ever thought their singing journey would ever take them on TV or radio (not compulsory :-) ). Once you join the choir you will find you learn the songs by rote from a brilliant set of resources and you will be amazed how quickly you go from 'not sure' to 'performance ready'. The songs are uniquely arranged to make songs easy to sing yet still challenge you in places.
If you find yourself racing through the week with no time for yourself, or struggling to meet new people in Glasgow, then joining your local Giffnock choir could be just the thing for you. With our unique, no-pressure approach to teaching and fun, uplifting arrangements of your favorite hit songs Lauren will guide you through your weekly dose of music, fun and laughter.
Here is a quote about our choir - 'I can only echo what people have said about Rock Choir. It's had such an impact on mine and other's lives. A fantastic outlet for singing feel-good songs, the ones we all enjoy to listen to - and the opportunity to be part of a group producing an amazing sound. I've made so many friends and had many fantastic experiences during my last 5 years with Rock Choir and look forward to many more!' - Emma (Rock Choir member)
Rock Choir is a winner of the Red Ribbon 'Big Heart' Award. and holds 1 former and 2 current Guinness World Records. The choir is also credited with single handedly starting the contemporary choir movement.
