Songs for a Summer's Evening: Harriet Burns and Ian Tindale
Following the success of their debut album with Delphian Records (‘A very fine disc indeed’ Gramophone; ‘a peerless Schubert recital’ Presto Editor’s Choice), acclaimed duo Harriet Burns and Ian Tindale will be presenting a concert at Christ Church Cathedral, Oxford on 4 July at 7.30pm. From folksongs to ballads, lighter numbers by Flanders & Swann to English song classics by Quilter and Gurney, there is something for everyone! Their next album with Delphian Records, to be recorded later this year, will bring together neglected English song and folksong arrangements old and new with two world premiere recordings of works especially written for Harriet and Ian; the evening promises to offer a sneak-peak at some works from the disc.
