Britain's What's On Event Guide
EC3 Relay
As the country enters its Summer of Sport, the City of London’s historic Leadenhall Market has announced its own sporting fixtures for July and August, open to all to take part.
Setting the season off to a pedalling start will be a Guinness World Record attempt, for the ‘most participants in a static cycle relay’. Hosted by insurance group Aventum, the world record attempt aims to see 500+ participants take turns on a single exercise bike in a continuous relay, while raising over £50,000 for Cancer Research UK.
The EC3 Relay is open to anyone to take part, with every participant needing to commit to cycling a minimum of 1km. Those pedalling on Wednesday morning can expect to be joined and supported by F1 and F2 driver, and son of Aventum’s founder and CEO, Ollie Bearman, who will swap his four wheels for two, giving the challenge a half-way boost!
Taking place from Tuesday 9 – Thursday 11 July, with cycling slots running for 72 hours, including throughout the night.
