Hind Street Gallery presents two, radically different, one-man plays.

The Divinatory Crowd of Dreams. Written and performed by Catherine Gil Alcala.

Catherine Gil Alcala, from Paris, will be performing poetry and performance. “The Divinatory Crowd of Dreams” is, as the French would say, “assez avant-gardiste”. It is set in the theatre of dreams where dreamtime does not exist like clock time. We meet humans from all eras and places: neighbours, strangers, animals, monsters, dogs and aliens. This exceptional work by a very talented artist draws from years and years of exploring the complexity of her own dreams. The performance will be in English.

Wonderin Y. Written and performed by Ian Pearce.

It’s a moving story about amnesia, a collaboration with fellow Wolverhampton boy Don Powel, the drummer from Slade, one of the world’s most successful glam rock bands of all time. At a young age Don was involved in a car accident that destroyed his memory. Despite not remembering who he was or why he was on a stage in front of thousands of people, he fought amnesia and played on. Ian worked closely with Don Powell to create this intimate and moving story. This is Don’s story but so many of us will be able to relate to it.
