Highams Park funeral home to host coffee morning

A funeral home in Highams Park is inviting the community to come along to a coffee morning in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support.

Taking place on Tuesday 6 August from 10am – 2pm, Co-op Funeralcare Highams Park is inviting local people to enjoy a ‘brew and a chat’ where they will be able to speak openly about their experiences with cancer in a welcoming, friendly environment.

The team at Co-op Funeralcare Highams Park will provide locals with advice on the support available in the community as well as opportunities to meet others. Attendees will be able to enjoy cakes and refreshments, with the branch also encouraging cake donations, and the chance to take part in a book swap initiative.

Guests are invited to bring along the whole family, with a chocolate hamper up for grabs in the children’s colouring competition, and a raffle for adults. A light-up memorial tree will allow visitors to share the names of loved ones they have lost, in a touching tribute where guests can take some time to reflect.
Faryn Sloane, Funeral Arranger at Co-op Funeralcare, said: “A lot of us here at Co-op Funeralcare Highams Park have been personally affected by or have lost loved ones to cancer, so we feel that Macmillan is particularly close to home. We want to create a cheerful environment where likeminded people can feel comfortable to talk about their experiences, or simply to enjoy some company.
