The Business of Murder

The Theatre at the Tabard presents Richard Harris’ acclaimed psychological thriller, The Business of Murder, which enjoyed a successful 7-year run in the West End.

“Welcome to a thriller that achieves it all. . . . Sensational.” – The Times.

“The most ingenious murder mystery to have appeared on the London stage in a decade.” – The Daily Mail.

“The best stage thriller for years, it is sharply written … and kept me guessing to the end” ~ Sunday Mirror

The Business Of Murder was first performed at the Theatre Royal in Windsor before playing a seven year run in the West End. It was written by Richard Harris whose thriller/detective television credits include A Touch Of Frost, The Sweeney, The Avengers and The Last Detective. He has written countless scripts for television and devised or co-devised such series as Shoestring and Man In A Suitcase. His television awards include The Writers’ Guild Award For Comedy, The British Television Award and the New York Gold Medal Award for his play Searching For Senor Duende. He has written such stage plays as Stepping Out and Outside Edge, both of which earned The Evening Standard Award.

The Business Of Murder is the fourth of his plays to appear at the Tabard, the other three being Liza Liza Liza, Dog Ends and, most recently, The Last Laugh.

Directed by Nick Bromley (The Last Laugh) and revised by Richard Harris for the Tabard production, this gripping psychological
