Theatre Organ Pops concert: Proms on Pipes with Chris Powell
Prepare for an unforgettable afternoon of musical magic as celebrated organist Chris Powell takes the stage to play the Wurlitzer organ in the grand Victoria Hall. This special event, dubbed Proms on Pipes” promises a delightful blend of light classics, beloved pop hits, and traditional “Proms” favourites.
Known for his captivating performances and versatile repertoire, Chris will be performing a selection of light classics, including a much-anticipated rendition of Orpheus in the Underworld. The concert will also feature cherished tunes from the Last Night of the Proms, ensuring an afternoon filled with patriotic fervour and musical splendour.
Adding to the excitement, Chris Powell will delight the audience with a medley of ABBA's greatest hits and timeless Beatles numbers, showcasing the versatility of the Wurlitzer and his own exceptional artistry.
Light refreshments will be available and for those new to theatre organ we welcome visitors below the stage to view the organ chambers with nearly 1000 pipes and percussions.
