About this Event

Join our choir in Yate for a FREE taster session

If you are wanting to learn to sing you'll find a warm welcome with us in the Rock Choir.

Your friendly local Yate choir is run by choir leader Alex Hawker. We are the local community choir with the national reputation - join the Yate Rock Choir and experience the singing phenomenon that Will Smith described as 'Fantastic'. Whilst retaining our community spirit, we come together en masse for national and regional events, giving our members unrivalled performance opportunities and experiences beyond compare, ranging from trips to perform at Eurodisney to our local Bristol music, food and fireworks festivals!

Whether you only sing in the shower or along to your car radio, or whether you see yourself belting out a showstopper in front of an audience of thousands, there's a place for you in the Yate Rock Choir. With no singing audition or need to read music, anyone can come along to a FREE taster session and see what all the fuss is about!

Here is a quote about our choir - 'I joined Rock Choir after being made redundant and being out of work for a year, so was feeling fairly low. Immediately I was greeted like an old friend and made to feel welcome. Since then I have gone on to meet new friends, have a great time every week and culminating to doing a solo at a local festival. If you'd have said to me a year ago I'd have the confidence to not only sing in front of people, but do a solo, I'd have told you not to be so silly. Rock Choir has become a v important part of my life, for the better.' - Alex (Rock Choir member)

Rock Choir is a winner of the Red Ribbon 'Big Heart' Award. and holds 1 former and 2 current Guinness World Records. The choir is also credited with single handedly starting the contemporary choir movement.
