Welcome to My Room

'Welcome to my Room' is a solo show that explores the inner life of a femme Korean expat. After a sold-out run in New York, this show is being presented as part of the Edinburgh Festival Fringe on 2nd-4th and 6th-10th of August.

A creative intersection of musical concert, poetry, and personal narrative, Welcome to my Room, follows ‘Y’- a Korean expat turned New Yorker, grappling with being a forever-foreigner and navigating the complexities of living in a female body. Drawing inspiration from Yeena’s experience of living in New York City and Korea, Welcome to my Room aims to nurture hyphenated identities and invite the audience to explore these questions: Who are you when no one is looking? What is the true meaning of home when you don't seem to belong anywhere? Can you discover the true essence of who you are even when the core source is lost and repressed? An intimate, soul warming play with music, follow ‘Y’ as she walks through the sensations of alienation, belonging, and self-discovery.
