Church Going by Andrew Ziminski Book Talk

Churches are many things to us - they are places of worship, vibrant community hubs and oases of calm reflection. To know a church is to hold a key to the past that unlocks an understanding of our shared history. Andrew Ziminski has spent decades as a stonemason and church conservator, acting as an informal guide to curious visitors. He will give a talk on his new book, Church Going.

Over the past thirty years Andrew Ziminski has worked as a stonemason from his base in Frome, Somerset on some of our greatest monuments. From repairs to a megalithic burial chamber and the reconstruction of a Roman temple façade to an Anglo-Saxon shrine and Salisbury's medieval cathedral Andrew's craft skills and knowledge have been put to good use.

Andrew's first book was The Stonemason: A History of Building Britain.
