Beth Rigby. Ruth Davidson. Two political powerhouses unite to unravel the spin and explain what’s really going on in Westminster and beyond. Every episode, they will examine politicians, what they stand for and how they sell polices as UK politics enters a new era. Beth Rigby is Sky News’ Political Editor. The first woman ever to hold the position, she is a leading face of the channel covering political news from the heart of Westminster and beyond.
Described in the Royal Television Society magazine as the “stand out political broadcaster of our times”, since joining Sky News in 2016 Beth has covered the Brexit referendum, three general elections, the bitter Brexit wars, the Covid pandemic and the ensuing Conservative leadership chaos.
Ruth Davidson is a writer, broadcaster and politician. A former leader of the Scottish Conservative Party, Ruth was the first openly gay leader of a political party in the UK. Her electoral success in Scottish and UK elections – along with her leading roles in the Scottish Independence and Brexit referendums (on the side of staying in both wider unions) – resulted in her being named one of Time Magazine’s people of the year. Before politics, Ruth spent a decade as a news journalist, mostly with the BBC, and has written, produced and presented a number of documentaries for radio and television. She currently sits as a Conservative Peer in the House of Lords and occasionally presents on Times Radio, having formerly held her own weekly programme at the station for the last two years. Ruth is a published author, regular newspaper columnist and frequent television commentator.
