Half Day Workshop: Off-Loom Weaving - Stones, Pebbles and Wood
Learn to weave without a loom by wrapping thread around a pebble, stone or piece of wood and weaving patterns through it with a bodkin needle.
You can choose your own colourways, using monochrome, earthy or brightly coloured yarns, from a selection provided by your tutor.
The tutor will also provide stones, pebbles and wood for you to weave on or you can bring your own stone or pebble, but please ensure the surface is fairly flat.
These woven or wrapped pebbles and stones make fabulous contemporary ornaments.
The weavings on wood look striking when mounted into a simple frame. These frames can be provided, if you wish, at a cost of £7, payable to your tutor on the day.
This workshop is perfect for beginners and for those who wish to refresh their weaving skills.
