About this Event
Nursery Rhymes Of London Town.
A Lecture by Caroline Walker.
This talk tells the story of Eleanor Farjeon (1881 to 1965). Her book ‘Nursery Rhymes of London Town’ was first published in 1916, and was an instant success with both children and adults, including soldiers on the Western front. The book and it’s sequel paved the way for a string of much loved children’s stories, poetry, and musical plays and were accompanied by wonderful comic illustrations, the work of our lecturer’s great uncle, Max Gill.
