Coledale Round, Lake District

The Coledale Round dominates the northern Lake District near Keswick. The full round includes 7 Wainwrights on the full circuit including Grasmoor, Causey Pike and Grisedale Pike.

It is best seen from Keswick with a splendid view of the two distinctive summits of Grisedale Pike and Causey Pike. Both mountains appear to act as portals in to the heart of this heavyweight circuit.

Starting in Braithwaite the walk starts on the long slopes of Grisedale Pike. Once here the summits come quite quickly as the circuit is completed. In particular the views of Buttermere from Hopegill Head and Grasmoor are spectacular.

Jonathan, the mountain leader and guide for the hike, loves the outdoor. His childhood holidays in the Lake District and subsequent climbing of the Munros instilled a passion and knowledge for the mountains of Britain. He carries this passion to this day.
