Driffield Gastro Festival
A new food and drink festival is set to debut in East Yorkshire when Gastro Festival takes place on the Driffield Showground on Saturday August 31st and Sunday September 1st. Gastro Festival promises a wealth of culinary delights, various beers, and lagers to sample, interactive family experiences, live entertainment, fireworks, and amazing tribute performances.
Visitors can expect a wide range of attractions as well as comedy performances, market traders, street food and bars from which to grab a drink.
Commenting on the debut of Gastro Festival, TJ Dowse of Dowse Events said: We are really looking forward to bringing this brand-new festival to Driffield. We held our first one at Pocklington earlier this year and it was well supported but this one is bigger and better. We have everything from farm animals, circus skills and rides for the little ones, to comedy entertainers, fireworks, and a live music lineup. We are bringing in local traders too and cannot wait to showcase this fantastic event to families from far and wide.”
As well as the food and drink there is also a craft market enticing visitors with a diverse selection of handcrafted treasures,
Entertainment wise, the festival's live music stage will feature an amazing line-up of local bands and artistes each day with Elltonesque paying homage to Sir Elton John from approximately 7pm on Saturday night, a performance which will be followed by a musical fireworks finale. Sunday’s headliners will be tributes to: Taylor Swift from 6pm and Freddie Mercury from 7pm.
Families will be entertained by Bob Hogg and his sheepdogs who will be performing their show in the arena twice each day, whilst there will be comedy performers and stilt walkers roaming around the showground throughout the day, while the have a go circus workshops offer youngsters a chance to explore their circus talents.
