Peak District 4 Edges Walk
Our 4 Edges walk introduces you to some classic Peak District landscapes, filled with height and drama, but without too much long arduous climbing, leaving you free to enjoy the magnificent scenery along the way.
We start off at Curbar Edge, with its dramatic rock formations and stunning views West over the Derbyshire Dales. Walking through purple heather and gritstone outcrops, we soon join our second edge, Frogatt, world renowned for its rock climbing, with famous routes such as Downhill Racer and Sunset Slab. From here we slowly drop down into the cool woodland of Nether Padley and , skirting the village of Grindleford, make our way onto the Longshaw Estate, where there is the opportunity for a cafe stop, before setting off again onto White Edge. Here we are at the highest points of our journey, with a 360° panorama, taking in Dark and White Peak. Views over Big Moor may offer the chance to view red deer during their annual rut. A long gentle descent sets us up for a last climb, perhaps accompanied by highland cattle, past Wellington’s Monument and onto our final edge at Baslow, where we can look out over Chatsworth House and its grounds before returning to our start point.
