Join artist Sean Dendere and explore the beauty within the mundane, giving attention to things that make up our everyday environment.
A little bit of everything, this workshop series explores poetry, embroidery, collage, soundscape and stop-motion. Have a go at learning embroidery as a mindfulness technique, use your phone to create a stop motion story, create found poems and more.
These workshops are open to individuals aged 18 and above and caters to all skill levels, from complete beginners to enthusiasts.
Workshops also work as standalone sessions, so don’t worry if you can’t make them all.
Mindfulness Embroidery – 2nd September: Teaching embroidery as a process driven practice.
Found Poetry – 9th September: Creating poems from other's words taken from books, newspapers etc and constructing an alternative meaning.
Abstract Collage – 16th September: Creating collages from lots of different types of newsprint.
Found Soundscape – 23rd September: Using phone's sound recording capabilities, you will explore the immediate environment to create a soundscape using smartphone or tablet software.
Stop-motion – 30th September: Using phones and tripods, creating a stop motion story using inanimate mundane objects and editing using smartphone or tablet software.
