Redfield funeral home invites community to open day
A funeral home in Redfield is inviting the community through its doors in a bid to break down barriers and taboos about funeral care.
The team is adopting an ‘ask us anything’ approach to encourage conversations as attendees explore the funeral home and learn more about the services and options available – whether that be for themselves or on behalf of a loved one.
Visitors can take a tour of the home’s service chapels, see its all-electric fleet of Mustang hearses, and browse a display of urns and masonry items. Funeral directors and colleagues will also be on hand, alongside local celebrants and florists, to discuss the range of personalised plans available for people to consider, reflecting a growing trend highlighted in Co-op Funeralcare’s Trending Tributes report.
The research from the member-owned organisation shows that 68% of people in the UK now see funerals as more of a ‘celebration of life’ rather than a sombre affair, underscoring the shift towards more celebratory events.
Nicola Wait, Funeral Director at Co-op Funeralcare Redfield, said: “We are pleased to invite the local community to attend what we hope will be an informative and welcoming open day at Co-op Funeralcare Redfield. This event is a chance to connect with our community and highlight the many ways we can personalise a service, given that we are seeing a move away from tradition and an increase in desire for more unique funerals.
“We’re keen to 'myth-bust' some of the common misconceptions about what happens when someone dies as many families are unaware of the options available to them, particularly when it comes to pre-planning their own funerals.
“By opening our doors and engaging with the community, we aim to demonstrate that we are here, ready to serve, and committed to helping families give their loved ones the send-off they deserve.”
