Heritage Open Day: “The House of Worth†was the very first fashion brand and a huge success, dressing European royalty (including Queen Victoria) and rich ladies from across the world in spectacular and very expensive clothes.†Come visit his birthplace. Wake House is the birthplace of Charles Worth, The Father of Haute Couture. After moving from rural Lincolnshire, he founded his very successful business in the centre of Paris. There will be free guided (or self-guided) tours of Wake House. Also displays of Charles Worth’s creations, information about his life and career and talks about his life and work.
