Heritage Open Day: In the oldest Methodist chapel in the county, a display will illustrate the influence of John Wesley, his family and friends in Lincolnshire, the British Isles, the USA and across the world. In 1779 John Wesley dedicated this unique Grade I listed chapel, built above the stable in the grounds of the beautiful Raithby Hall. Now the oldest Methodist chapel in the county, it will host a display describing the ministry here and overseas of John Wesley, his brother Charles and his friend Robert Carr Brackenbury, the landowner who provided this little gem of a building and became Wesley's close friend and missionary for the movement.
