Heritage Open Day: This is a rare opportunity to visit the main Victorian school building constructed in c. 1885, learn about the school’s Quaker influence and view a remarkable selection of photographs and school magazines. Founded in 1882 as a 'most desirable establishment for young ladies', Colchester Prep and High School has recently celebrated 140 years of providing an excellent independent education to children from Colchester and the surrounding area. Originally the school was named Minden House Girl’s School and catered to approximately 23 boarders and day pupils. Today, the school is a vibrant community of 300 boys and girls aged from 2 to 16.
