Cromer Pier & Pavilion Theatre
Heritage Open Day: Uncover the history of Cromer Pier, the iconic 151-metre-long Victorian structure. Enjoy a brass band on the pier, then step into the Pavilion Theatre to watch a short film that explains the vast history of The Cromer Pier Show and the pier itself. Known as the jewel of the North Norfolk coast, Cromer Pier is a 151-metre-long Victorian structure. There has been a pier or jetty in Cromer since 1391, however, the pier as we recognise it today opened in June of 1901 where a bandstand was erected at the head. This was extended in 1905 to form a pavilion. Now in 2024, Cromer Pier has been awarded the title of Pier of the Year by the National Piers Society. To celebrate the beginnings of the pier, the Cromer & Sheringham Brass Band will perform on the pier from 1pm until 3pm.
