Britain's What's On Event Guide
St Mary’s and the Mayflower
Heritage Open Day: Hear about St Mary’s Church, Redenhall and its connection to the Fuller family who sailed to America on the Mayflower, followed by organ recital. There has been a church on this site for over 1,000 years. It has a wonderful history and some fantastic treasures. St Mary’s was the church to a local family, two of whom travelled to America in 1620 as part of the Mayflower journey. An audio trail has been developed to commemorate the link between St Mary’s, the Fuller family and the very first Thanksgiving meal some 400 years ago.
The talk will be accompanied by a slide presentation focussing on the church's links with the Fuller family and the Mayflower both in the 17th and 21st centuries. This will be followed with an opportunity for visitors to look round the church, whilst listening to an organ recital. There is no charge, but participants will be encouraged to donate to St Mary’s Church.
