The Plantation Garden
Heritage Open Day: A restored Victorian garden in the centre of Norwich with a Gothic fountain and Italianate terrace, formal planting and woodland walks. The Plantation Garden welcomes you to visit on Sunday 8th September as part of the Heritage Open Day Festival. The Garden will be open to visitors free of charge throughout the day - 0900 to 1700 - with afternoon tea refreshments and music from local musicians from 1400.
The music programme is as follows:
1300: Clarinet Cascade - clarinet-sax
1400: Headstock - Ukulele Trio
1500: Colegate Broken Consort – early music
1600: Rick Stuart-Sheppard – guitar
Information boards placed around the Garden tell the history of the making of the Garden, its decline in the mid-20th century, and its re-discovery and restoration from 1980 onwards.
In addition, led by our head gardener, The Plantation Garden will be selling a range of exotic and herbaceous plants for visitors to take home and enjoy in their own gardens.
