St Mary Magdalene Church, Norwich
Heritage Open Day: St Mary Magdalene (built in 1903) serves a parish that includes Mousehold Heath. Objects transferred from St James Pockthorpe include screen panels and the font. There will be information about the local area and both churches. St Mary Magdalene's Church was built in 1903. It was originally designed as a ‘chapel of ease' for the parish church of St James the Less, Pockthorpe, but even before St James closed in 1972, St Mary Magdalene had become the main church for the parish.
The church, which is surrounded by terraced houses, serves a parish that includes all of Mousehold Heath, is easily reached on foot.
