Aldeburgh Museum
Heritage Open Day: Housed in the iconic Grade 1 Listed, timber framed, Tudor Moot Hall and home of the Town Council, the museum displays artefacts about the rich and diverse history of Aldeburgh from the Anglo-Saxons to today, through digital and manual displays. Find out how the town became a thriving fishing and shipbuilding centre. Discover how the changing coastline has shaped the town and explore its development as a seaside resort, an artists and musicians retreat and learn about the Moot Hall, a Tudor building still in use today for local governance.
The collection provides a unique insight into the lives of the people of Aldeburgh; from Anglo-Saxons to Victorians, not forgetting the medieval witch trials.
