Lodge of Prudence - Halesworth
Heritage Open Day: An opportunity to visit the Masonic Hall in Halesworth. The Lodge of Prudence has been meeting in the current building since 1880 which contains a number of interesting artefacts. Note: access is by a steep staircase. The Lodge of Prudence is one of the 10 oldest Masonic Lodges in Suffolk and has been meeting in Halesworth since 1827. It met in a number of locations throughout Halesworth until 1880 when it first met in the current Masonic Hall. The building was formerly a warehouse for the nearby departmental store, Roe & Co (which traded in Halesworth until the 1960's).
The building contains a number of interesting and unusual artifacts which may be unique to the lodge itself.
