Heritage Open Day: A drop-in exhibition and activities celebrating the clothing and textiles of the North Pennines mining communities, bringing artefacts and history from The Weardale Museum, and Nenthead Mines to a venue near you! Come along and learn about the clothing and textiles used by people in the past at this mini exhibition. The exhibition will feature historic photos and items used by the North Pennines mining communities in the past. These items have been kindly lent to us for use in this exhibition by The Weardale Museum and Nenthead Mines. We will also have activities on offer including printing one of our designs onto a tote bag, and making paper dolls. The exhibition is visiting four venues throughout Heritage Open Days:
Brampton Community Centre, Gelt Room - Friday 6th September, 3pm to 8pm
Allendale Village Hall - Saturday 7th September, 3pm to 8pm
Alston Town Hall - Monday 9th September, 3pm to 8pm
Stanhope, St Thomas Church Hall - Saturday 14th September, 3pm to 8pm
