Heritage Open Day: Explore life in a Border Town at Berwick Museum and Art Gallery Visit Berwick Museum and Art Gallery, located in the Ravensdowne Barracks - the first purpose-built army barracks in England and home to the Berwick Burrell Collection.
• Discover the characters, nooks and crannies of old Berwick as you explore a fascinating recreation of the old town in ‘Window on Berwick’.
• Be amazed by the Ord Cross - a tiny piece of Anglo-Saxon jewellery found in 2019 on the banks of the River Tweed, on permanent display in the museum.
• Check out our 70-million-year-old Ichthyosaur skeleton and a range of other interesting fossils.
• Enjoy the beautiful masterpieces from the magnificent Berwick Burrell Collection, generously gifted to the town in 1949.
• Be inspired by Lowry’s Beach Scene on permanent display.
