Heritage Open Day: Alderman Fenwick's House, dating back to 1670, is one of the rarest surviving examples of an original Merchant’s house. Journey through this unique building and its exciting features. Our heritage open days are an excellent opportunity to visit one of the rarest surviving examples of an original Merchant’s house.
Start your journey in our grand entrance hall where you can view our preserved 350-year-old window salvaged from the restoration period.
You will then continue up the main staircase to the Grade I listed Great Room, which through time has hosted the likes of Winston Churchill and Charles Dickens. Take in the stunning architecture reminiscent of 17th century Newcastle townhouses.
Finally, make your way to our rooftop viewing platform and experience the astonishing views of Newcastle spanning from Pilgrim Street and beyond to the Quayside.
