New history boards have been created and provide details of the Court's place in local history. Jesmond Dene Real Tennis Club is a Grade II listed building. It is a Victorian Real Tennis court built in what was then the garden of Jesmond Dene House in 1894. It is one of 27 Real Tennis courts in the UK and is in daily use by members of Jesmond Dene Real Tennis Club. Real Tennis is the original racket sport!
