Stories from St Nicholas - the life of Gosforth Parish Church
Heritage Open Day: St Nicholas Church, Gosforth invites you to discover the life of one of Newcastle’s ancient churches. Enjoy guided and self-guided tours, examine some of our archives, wander the ancient churchyard and dive into family explorer trails and activities. Gosforth Parish Church of St Nicholas (a Grade II listed building) has witnessed the story of over 800 years of life in north Newcastle.
Guided and self-guided tours will uncover the lives of some of the people who lived, worked, and are buried here.
Tours:
11.30 and 15.00 for adults
13.30 - for families (ages 3+)
Drop-in archive handling sessions throughout the day will show some of the plans for our beautiful stained glass windows, original deeds and other historical documents dating back to the 19th century.
