Saint Ann's Church, Newcastle upon Tyne

Heritage Open Day: Saint Ann's Church is a Grade I listed Georgian building situated in landscaped grounds and forms part of the city's iconic Quayside skyline. An exhibition on the history of the church and its grounds will be on display. Saint Ann's Church was consecrated in 1768. Designed by William Newton in a dignified English Renaissance manner to replace a much older chapel dating from 1344. The light and spacious interior was redecorated to celebrate the church's 250th anniversary. Saint Ann's surrounding churchyard has views of the River Tyne and includes many notable historic graves of local people. A history trail of significant memorials in the church grounds is available.
