Heritage Open Day: Visitors can wander around this iconic, hidden gem of a museum in the Watch House, volunteers will be on hand to answer any questions and expand on the history of the artefacts. The Watch House is a large blue and white building with two towers overlooking the mouth of the River Tyne. It is a Grade II listed building and houses the museum collection of artefacts and memorabilia from over 157 years of life saving on the NE coast. Each and every artefact within the museum has a story associated with it, ask the volunteers and they will expand on the history. Light refreshments will also be available.
