Friends of Westoe Cemetery - Guided History Walks
Heritage Open Day: Visit the historic Edwardian Cemetery for a guided walk and learn about the civic leaders and innovators who shaped our town. Westoe Cemetery, now redundant, was opened in 1857 and has the graves of important civic leaders, the town’s major industrialists, educationalists and over 200 master mariners and Tyne pilots. A rich local history revealed in a one hour walk by local guides.
