Phoenix Hall Masonic Temple
Heritage Open Day: Grade 1 listed - The Phoenix Hall built on Queen Street East in 1785 is the only example of its type, Purpose built by Phoenix Lodge no 94 who still meet in the building. The hall is a Grade I listed building built in the Palladium style of Architecture and has just been restored thanks to a grant from Historic England, it has been used by the lodge that built it from 1785 to this very day. its unique original features include the Sunburst Ceiling, original Organ, and cellar area with exposed medieval drains found during an archaeological dig. Members will be on hand to both guide and explain the history attached to the building.
