Heritage Open Day: St. Nicholas is the parish Church of West Boldon and is a Grade I Listed Building. A great deal of the original Saxon stonework is still visible but the majority of the structure dates from the 13th Centuary. This year we will have a display of photographs of weddings which have taken place at the church through the past decades. There will also be a treasure hunt. Refreshments will be available at our nearby church hall. There are several memorial tablets commemorating the fallen of the Boer War and the two World Wars. A memorial tablet traces the Rectors of Boldon back to 1220.
There are many interesting features including beautiful stained glass windows and a sundial which dates from 1792.
