Radcliffe Parish Church of St Mary, Greater Manchester/ Eco/Environment

Heritage Open Day: St Mary's is a Grade I listed building, parts of which date to the 13th century. James de Radcliffe 1355-1410 is interred inside. Nearby are the ruins of the de Radcliffe's ancestral home - Radcliffe Tower, and the Grade II Tithe barn circa 1700. The Church was built by the De Radcliffe family adjacent to their family home - Radcliffe Tower. Radcliffe's first Lord of the Manor took part in Norman conquest. Radcliffe and the Church is mentioned in the Doomsday Book of 1086. Many historic features of church still in situ. St Mary's was the family church of many major industrialists of Radcliffe in 18th/19th century, including the Bealey family. Graveyard contains 9 War Graves, plus many other family plots and graves of other influential residents of Radcliffe.
