Heritage Open Day: Have a cup of tea whilst you explore the bandroom, find out about the history of Water Village Band (formed in 1866), and listen to a band practice session. Then you can have a go at playing a brass instrument yourself! Water Band was formed in 1866 by local working men who wanted to share their enjoyment of music in their spare time. 158 years, three bandrooms, and several name changes later, the now-named Water Village Band is still going strong and continuing the tradition of brass banding in Rossendale. We're now a community brass band, open to all ages and abilities, but still with the aim of sharing the enjoyment of music here in the villages of Water and Lumb.
