Find out about Quakers

Heritage Open Day: Garstang Quaker Meeting House was built in 1829 and is a good example of the early simple form of meeting houses, it has Grade II listed status. 2024 sees the celebration of the 400th Anniversary of George Fox, the founder of The Quakers Garstang Meeting House still has many original features, tying the building back to its original state and showing the simple way of worship that is typical of Quaker belief. Its distance from the centre of town and relative isolation, until recent housing developments, have helped preserve this link. It is very similar to many of the early meeting houses that were built as soon as it was legal to do so.
