Heritage Open Day: Our Lady’s church is a Grade II listed building designed by renowned architect Edward Welby Pugin. On 8 December 1860, Bishop Brown laid the foundation stone of the new church, which opened two years later, on 25 May. Despite extensive damage during the war, the church was restored & opened with the famous preacher Ronald Knox delivering the sermon at the Mass of reopening.
