St Peter's C of E Church, Parr
Heritage Open Day: St Peter's Church was built in 1864/65 to the designs of J Medland Taylor. The stonework is in three different colours and there is a broach spire. Displays will depict the involvement of the church in the community over the years. The church was re-ordered during 2017-2020. The main body of the church was sympathetically modernised so that it was fit for purpose for 21st century worship and community use. Rickety fixed pews were replaced with comfortable moveable chairs, a broken obsolete heating system was replaced by an efficient underfloor heating system. The lighting system was replaced by one that is energy efficient and which gives much better lighting. A modern audio/visual system was installed.
