The total cost of the construction work was £1.6 million, all of which was raised from donations and collections. The mosque contains two prayer rooms with a total capacity for 700. Female Muslims use the facilities on the ground floor, while men use the upper prayer room. The interiors are impressive with the upper prayer chamber having a spectacular dome with inscriptions around its perimeter.
