Heritage Open Day: There has been a house on this site for over 1000 years – and now Westbury is a thriving arts venue. For MK HODs we will set up a history display where you can find out more about the 1000 year history of the site. Westbury is a fascinating old building with a date stone from 1670. But the site is much older. It was mentioned in the Domesday Book and there was a house here long before the Normans arrived. Part of the original moat still exists. Now it houses an arts centre but is also home to several protected species such as bats and great crested newts.
The information boards will be set up in Studio 15 on the ground floor. You can also join a history walk (see separate entry).
