Town Hall Open Day - Fun for all the Family
Heritage Open Day: Come along to the Town Hall to discover rooms not normally open to the public. View our collection of art work and Civic Regalia. Activities for children include colouring a crown and search for the hidden Iguanadon. The Town Hall is an historic building parts of the building date from the 15th Century with a magnificent renaissance staircase dating from 1600. There are many paintings of note which have been catalogued in a book called Lewes Town Hall Pictures which will be available for sale alongside the Civic Insignia and Plate book. The magnificent Assembly Room which is used for concerts, civic events, and many other occasions will be available to view alongside the oak panelled Council Chamber and the Mayors Parlour.
