Newhaven Museum
Heritage Open Day: An interesting collection of artefacts, photographs and documents connected with Newhaven's history and its maritime connections. The museum houses many exhibits and archives connected with Newhaven's railway history and ferry links with Dieppe. The museum collection includes an archive of over 20,000 images related to the history and people of Newhaven and the surrounding district. The images can be searched and viewed on our in-house computer. There is also an extensive collection of artefacts - many have links to Newhaven's maritime heritage, but other topics include Newhaven's involvement as a key supply and front line port during both World Wars, education, local industries and the treatment of the poor during the Victorian era.
